Apple M5 MacBook: First Look & Release Date Rumors

Apple has teased a new MacBook launch on X. The first devices with the M5 processor are apparently expected to be presented this week.

Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of global marketing, posted the cryptic message “something powerful is coming.” In a short video, the words “coming soon” and the silhouette of an Apple laptop can be seen.

Hidden clues about the M5

Joswiak sprinkled in several references to the upcoming chip: His post contains the word “Mmmmm” with exactly five M. US media like TheVerge see this as a reference to the M5. In addition, the laptop silhouette in the video is designed as a Roman numeral V.

The announcement is not unexpected. Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman recently reported that Apple plans to introduce an entry-level MacBook Pro with an M5 chip this week. iPad Pros with M5 processors have also already been unpacked on YouTube and, according to Gurman, will also be presented this week – although Joswiak has not yet commented on these.

Vision Pro with a faster chip?

Additionally, Gurman expects a Vision Pro with a “faster chip” to be announced this week. This could be the new headset recently spotted in an FCC filing.
