He advice has authorized a framework agreement for the acquisition of antiviral medications of human use that will be supplied to the centers of the Valencian health systemwith the aim of ensuring the availability of treatments for different pathologies in the public health.
The purchase contemplated in this agreement has a estimated value of 12.3 million euros and the file is structured in 13 lots. As detailed, the start is scheduled for first quarter of 2026 and the duration will be two yearswith the possibility of extension from up to two more years.
What the agreement regulates and what it is used for
The framework agreement establishes the company selection suppliers, the price fixing and the conditions that will govern the supply contracts. The purpose, as they explain, is to guarantee that health centers have the necessary drugs to care for patients who require antiviral treatment.
Among the medications provided are acyclovirindicated for the treatment of infections virus herpes simple, varicella zoster o shingles in patients immunocompromisedas well as for the treatment of herpetic encephalitis.
Antivirals for HIV, hepatitis B and cytomegalovirus
The procedure also includes drugs used mainly in the treatment of patients with HIV infection. From the health field, it is highlighted that the agreement establishes conditions for the supply to be developed in a manner harmonized and homogeneous in all Valencian public health centers, so that access to these medicines is equivalent regardless of the place where care is provided.
