In a recent speech during NBAonPrimereporter Chris Haynes spoke about the Atlanta Hawks‘ interest in Anthony Davisa big man for the Dallas Mavs.
“I am told that the Hawks are very interested in the possibility of acquiring Anthony Davis via trade. Given where AD is at in his career, he still has this season and next under contract, then he could become a free agent thanks to a player option. Therefore, any team trying to acquire him will have to think carefully about offering him an extension,” explains Haynes.
“If an agreement were to materialize, Dallas would probably aim to obtain expiring contracts (including that of Porzingis due to salary issues), young assets and draft picks, most likely also the first overall pick of the 2024 draft, Zaccharie Risacher. Trae Younghowever, will not be included in the negotiation.”
