Ansan’s strategy involves providing systematic support at every stage of the family lifecycle,from pre-marital readiness to post-childbirth care. This holistic approach aims to resonate with citizens and provide tangible benefits.
Pre-Pregnancy Health Initiatives: Investing in Future Families
Under the banner of Ansan I Love You,
the city is prioritizing pre-pregnancy healthcare. Couples preparing to conceive can receive up to ₩130,000 towards health check-up costs. This initiative is available to men and women under 49. Specifically, women can access ovarian function tests, gynecological exams, and ultrasounds, while men can undergo semen inspections.
According to recent data from the Korean Statistical Data Service (KOSIS), infertility rates have been steadily climbing, making proactive pre-pregnancy care more crucial than ever.Ansan’s initiative directly addresses this concern by promoting early detection and intervention.
Applications can be submitted through the E-Health Center or the Health Center. Inspections are available at participating medical institutions nationwide, regardless of the applicant’s address. Moreover, engaged or newly married couples in Ansan can also benefit from pre-health checkups, including nine types of blood tests, at public health centers. These couples will also receive guidance on additional tests,vaccinations,and relevant maternity policy information.
Enhanced Support for Pregnant Women: Nurturing Maternal Health
Ansan is significantly expanding its support for pregnant women. Free prenatal inspections are available during early pregnancy, and folic acid and iron supplements are provided for up to five months, tailored to the individual’s pregnancy stage.
These measures align with recommendations from leading healthcare organizations, such as the Korean Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology, wich emphasize the importance of early prenatal care and adequate nutrient intake for healthy pregnancies.
Empowering Expectant Mothers: Education and Training Programs
From March to November, Ansan offers programs designed to promote the physical and emotional well-being of pregnant women. These include breastfeeding classrooms and childbirth preparation classes, delivered through both online lectures and one-on-one training sessions. New additions include customized breast management training for lactation.
