An intimate challenge for Jezabel Mercier, whose daughter Lucie, 23, suffers from lacrimal gland cancer. She sees the trek as “support for all those suffering from cancer”, but also as an opportunity to “raise awareness” of Lucie’s illness.
To raise the 9,000 euros needed for their trip, the three friends set up an association “Lulu and the pink rays”, named after the Instagram account on which the young woman shares her fight against cancer. They have given themselves the means: lotto, bake sales, programs… and a support evening, which will take place Friday October 24, from 6 p.m., at the V and B in Champniers. Excess money will be donated to the Institut Curie research center in Paris, which followed Lucie last year.
