Thursday 9 October at 8.30 pm, on Duse Theatre of Bologna will host the Italian debut of Angelo Greco & Company, new company founded in 2025 with the aim of enhancing dance as an artistic language shared between Italy and the United States of America. Born from an idea of the dancer Angelo Grecocurrently principal dancer of theHouston Balletthe company brings together a group of excellent performers from the main American theaters.
Born in Nuoro and raised in Modena, Greco trained at Castelfranco Veneto Ballet e at the Accademia del Teatro alla Scalawhere he obtained a stable contract. After moving to the United States in 2016, he became a principal dancer at the San Francisco Ballet and, as of July 2024, is Principal Dancer at Houston Ballet. The artist has played leading roles in great classics and collaborated with famous choreographers such as Christopher Wheeldon, Yuri Possokhov, Dwight rod, Rudolf Nureyev, Helgi Tomasson e Kenneth MacMillan. His repertoire ranges from classical to neoclassical to contemporary dance. The awards received include: the Erik Bruhn Prize e due Dance Europe’s Outstanding Artistry Awards.
The show offers a selection of steps of the deux and choreographer which cross different styles and languages, from nineteenth-century ballet to contemporary. A rare opportunity to see some of the most prestigious names on the international scene on stage. Alongside Greco, ètoiles like will take the stage Misa Kuranaga, Aaron Robison, Karina González, Gian Carlo Perez and Tyler Donatelli.
At the end of the show, for the audience present in the room, the director of Dance&Dance, Maria Luisa Buzziwill lead a meeting with the artists.
