From 3-2, Kruger and Lamens traded breaks again, before Kruger seized the initiative with a fourth consecutive break to lead 5-3, later serving out the set. The second set mirrored the first with an exchange of breaks, followed by two more from Kruger to establish a 4-1 lead. Despite dropping her serve, Kruger maintained her composure to secure the victory in one hour and twenty minutes.
