LINZ. A high school choir from America sings in the Ursuline Church to benefit hospice work in Upper Austria.

They are between 14 and 18 years old, come from Pennsylvania and are currently on tour in Europe: the singers of the choir “The Silvertones”. On Tuesday, March 31st, the ensemble will perform at a benefit concert in the Ursuline Church. The proceeds benefit the Upper Austria Hospice Association.

Musically, the choir specializes in a cappella chamber music; the repertoire includes works from all eras of music history. The program in Linz is entitled “Bach, Bruckner, Edelweiss & More”. The audience can expect catchy tunes like “If I Had a Hammer” but also classic works like “Komm, Jesu, komm” by Bach or “Peace Song” by Tim Brent to “Ave Maria” by Bruckner.

The choir is led by Lindsey Reinhard Silva, conductor, singer and music teacher. She has performed numerous international performances as a singer and leads several choral ensembles and various music courses at Strath Haven High School.

Proceeds support hospice projects

“The concert will not only be a musical experience, we are pleased that the proceeds will be available for current projects such as ‘Hospice makes schools’ or ‘Hospice and palliative care for people with disabilities’,” says the chairwoman of the Upper Austria Hospice Regional Association, Christina Grebe.
