American Airlines has launched a new direct daily flight between Milan
Malpensa and Philadelphia, effective immediately for the summer season.
This complements the existing daily service to New York (JFK), enhancing
connectivity between Milan and the United States.

“The inauguration of the new direct flight between Milan and Philadelphia
represents our continuous growth in the Italian market and further
strengthens the connectivity between Lombardy and the United states”,
commented José A. Freig, vice president of International and
Contact Centre Operations, and Service Recovery di American
Airlines. “Philadelphia, as the main hub for the transatlantic
flights of American Airlines, guarantees a network of capillary
connections towards the main destinations in North America and beyond,
operating in this summer season up to 337 daily flights towards over 120
destinations”.

Luigi Battuello, Chief Commercial Officer of Sea Aeroporti in

between Milan Malpensa and Philadelphia. The choice of American Airlines
to introduce this new destination testifies how the potential of our

Philadelphia…guarantees a network of capillary connections towards the
main destinations in North America and beyond.

Battuello added that the second daily flight on Malpensa will offer
passengers an easy connection between the “Italian economic capital and a
large historic city, the first capital of the USA,” along with access to
over 120 destinations in North America, Latin America, and the
Caribbean, via Philadelphia’s transatlantic hub. He anticipates roughly
200 destinations with direct flights from Malpensa by the 2025 season,
with an 18% capacity increase scheduled by carriers on long-range routes.
