She persists and signs. American actress Amanda Seyfried returned to her controversial statement about Charlie Kirk after his assassination in September 2025. At the time, she described the conservative as “detestable” on Instagram, sparking an outcry among nationalists and earning her a number of comments on social networks.
“I’m not going to apologize for that. Honestly, I just commented on something. I said something based on real facts, images and authentic quotes. What I said was perfectly factual, and I have the right to have an opinion, obviously”, comments Amanda Seyfried in an interview with the fashion site Who What Wear.
In September, faced with the controversy, the actress had to justify herself, evoking a comment “which was taken out of context”. “I can be outraged by the misogyny and racist remarks while completely agreeing that the murder of Charlie Kirk was absolutely shocking and deplorable in every way,” she wrote on Instagram.
He added: “No one should have to endure such violence. Our country is already in mourning from too many senseless and violent deaths and shootings. Can we at least agree on this?”
“Thank you Instagram”
An explanation which had calmed the controversy. “Thank you Instagram. I was able to clarify things and get my voice back, because I felt like it had been stolen and distorted – as we often do, of course,” she analyzes in her recent interview.
Politically engaged, Amanda Seyfried took the opportunity to tackle Donald Trump, to whom the influencer Charlie Kirk was close before being assassinated. In the columns of Who What Wear, the star of Oh mama! says, ironically: “It’s always difficult to see devious and harmful people succeed – like our magnificent president, the perfect example.”
