Carlos Moedas, the surprise guest at tonight’s Democratic Alliance rally, revived the issue of immigration, introduced in this campaign by Pedro Passos Coelho, to accuse the socialists and the extreme left of having created “immigration chaos”.
In Évora, the mayor of Lisbon began by recalling his own journey as an emigrant and the fact that he was married to an immigrant to criticize the positions taken “by the PS and the extreme left” and to argue that the right should not accept lessons from morality of those who did nothing for immigrants. “Yes, our country needs immigrants.
