Alfie Boe New Album: Face Myself – Original Songs Revealed

by Archynetys News Desk

Tony Award winner and international musical theater performer, Alfie Boe announces the release of his first-ever album consisting primarily of original material, ‘Face Myself‘, due April 10. The album’s first single, ‘Meanwhile Gardens’, is available now.

Abandoning his usual interpretations of musicals, this album marks a return to Boe’s Nordic origins and reflects his love for indie music with original songs. Produced by the duo MyRiot (London Grammar, Primal Scream), the project represents the culmination of a secret ambition of twenty years.

“I asked myself, ‘What do I have to face within myself?’ “, he said. “For me, it was several moments from the past – my childhood, my adolescence. Which brought me to where I am today, my personal life. And this is reflected in the other songs on the album. This has been a very important lesson for me to face who I am and understand and connect with my current artistic identity. I simply write from the heart and believe in what I say while telling my story. I hope this can touch other people and remind them of their own memories allowing them to reflect on themselves as well. »

For his writing, Boe turned to rock legend Pete Townshend, who chose him to star in the live symphony tour of his classic rock opera Quadrophenia in 2017. “Don’t try to rhyme… just write your thoughts.” Free write,” advised Townshend.

Boe will also undertake a UK tour in conjunction with his album. Check out the dates and listen to the new single below.
