Alex Cooper, the personality behind the podcast Call Her daddy, has publicly accused her former Boston university (BU) soccer coach, Nancy Feldman, of sexual harassment. These allegations are featured in Cooper’s new Hulu documentary, Call Her Alex.

The documentary,which premiered at the Tribeca Festival,delves into Cooper’s experiences over three years at Boston University.she claims Feldman made inappropriate comments about her body, pried into her personal relationships, and created an uncomfortable surroundings. Cooper attended BU on a full athletic scholarship due to her prowess as a soccer player.

According to Cooper,the alleged harassment began during her sophomore year. She states that Feldman’s focus shifted from her athletic performance to her personal life, creating a situation where she felt increasingly uncomfortable and targeted.

Cooper Claims Retaliation and Dismissal of Allegations

Cooper alleges that when she attempted to avoid her coach, Feldman retaliated by reducing her playing time. the situation reportedly culminated in Cooper being dismissed from the soccer team during her senior year.

“It was this psychotic game of you wanna play? Tell me about your sex life, I have to drive you to your night class, get in the car wiht me alone,” she recalled. “I started trying to spend as little time as possible with her,taking different routes to practice where I knew I wouldn’t run into her. During meetings,I would try to sit as far away from her as possible,literally anything to not be alone with this woman.”

Cooper also claims that when she reported the alleged harassment to university officials, her concerns were “dismissed,” and no formal examination was launched. Nancy Feldman retired from Boston University in 2022. Cooper graduated in 2017.

Reports indicate that The Hollywood Reporter has reached out to Boston University for comment on the allegations.

Cooper Speaks Out to Empower Other Women

During a Q&A session following the documentary’s premiere, Cooper explained her decision to share her story. She emphasized the challenges women face when reporting harassment and the importance of using her platform to encourage others to come forward.

She continued, “I actually think this is just the beginning. It’s really opened my eyes to how difficult the system is, and it’s so built against us as women, and we have to fight so fucking hard to have our voices heard, and we are denied, or we’re questioned, or you feel shame, and that started to really get in my head of, how am I about to not put this in the documentary? … I realized, holy shit, I have so much more work to do, and I’m going to use my platform to hopefully inspire other people to come forward and tell their stories, because conversation is the only way that we’re going to actually have change and we’re going to make change.”
