Alan Wake 2 Surpasses 2 Million Sales Worldwide
Alan Wake 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the cult classic, has surpassed 2 million sales worldwide.
Milestone Achieved with Expansion and Deluxe Edition
These sales numbers represent an increase from the 1.3 million copies sold between October 2023 and March 2024. At that time, developer Remedy Games celebrated Alan Wake 2 as their fastest-selling game ever.
Recouping Costs and Generating Royalties
In its latest financial report to investors, Remedy Games announced that this milestone, combined with the release of The Lake House expansion and the Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition, means the game has now started to accrue royalties, having recouped its development and marketing costs.
Upcoming Projects from Remedy Games
Looking ahead, Remedy Games shared updates on several upcoming projects. Control 2, developed in partnership with Annapurna, is nearing the end of its production readiness stage. Full production for the game is set to begin at the end of February 2025.
The Max Payne 1&2 Remake, another highly anticipated title, is also progressing steadily in full production.
FBC: Firebreak Update
Additionally, FBC: Firebreak, a multiplayer spin-off of Control, continues its full production phase. The game underwent a successful closed technical test in December, which tested matchmaking and backend services. While no release date has been confirmed, it is set to be self-published by Remedy Games later in 2025.
