On November 19, AIVP and Green Marine International renewed their cooperation initiated in 2018 by signing a new memorandum of understanding. This should make it possible to amplify the impact of the joint actions carried out by each of our organizations in the service of more sustainable, more responsible and better integrated ports in their territories.
This updated protocol paves the way for closer cooperation around several key areas:
1/ Adapt the Green Alliance environmental program to European ports, within the framework of Green Marine Europe certification, integrating the specificities of the European regulatory framework.
2/ Explore the integration of the priorities of the AIVP Agenda 2030 within GMI certifications for an even more coherent approach between environmental and societal issues.
3/ Identify international synergiesin order to better support the members of our two organizations and accelerate the dissemination of good practices.
4/ Connect our networks, enrich our communities.
The two organizations will also continue their collaboration on:
- cross-promotion of their events,
- reciprocal participation in general meetings,
- exchange of resources, content and expertise,
- mutual buy-in at the organizational level.
A concrete way to strengthen links between port, city, citizens and all stakeholders in the maritime sector.
This protocol commits GMI and the AIVP until 2030, with a joint review planned for this date to assess progress and define future perspectives.
“With Green Marine International, we act at the heart of the port ecosystem,” underlines Bruno Delsalle, general director of AIVP. “This protocol strengthens our capacity to support port authorities and their industrial partners in the concrete implementation of the commitments of the AIVP 2030 Agenda for the benefit of the sustainable development of port cities. »
“We are moving towards a more global vision of port performance”, said David Bolduc, President and CEO of Green Marine International. “This expanded partnership with AIVP allows us to further harmonize our efforts, strengthen the credibility of environmental initiatives and support our members in increasingly demanding regulatory and territorial contexts. »
