Apple’s AirPods Pro 3 boasts a standout feature: real-time translation, enabling users to understand conversations in different languages directly through their headphones. This technology allows two people to converse in their native languages and comprehend each other seamlessly.

However, this feature will not be available in the European Union. According to Apple’s documentation, “Live Translation with the Airpods is not available if you are in the EU and the country or region associated with your Apple account is also in the EU” [[2]].

The translation function operates bidirectionally. Users hear the other person’s words translated into their language, while their iPhone displays their own speech translated into the other person’s language. When both individuals use compatible AirPods, the conversation flows naturally with automatic translation in both directions.

The system employs active noise cancellation to minimize the original voice’s volume and overlay the translation.
