Temperatures in the Czech Republic can rise over 34 degrees this week, as meteorologists warned. Czechs are therefore looking for opportunities to cool down at home and buy air conditioning in bulk. They are no longer just the privilege of offices and shopping centers, but are also available for households.
“Sales of air conditioning and fans are always related to the advent of extreme summer temperatures. In the last two weeks, thanks to very warm summer weather, we have seen an extreme increase in interest in buying these devices, especially in the last week.
Customers seem to be interested in mobile air conditioning worth around eight thousand, coolingmen in the range of two to four thousand or fans up to a thousand crowns, she noted.
Air conditioning today and floods and does not disturb
New air conditioning models are no longer used for cooling, it is possible to flood and clean or deny the air in winter. It is also common to control via the mobile application, automatic temperature control or timers adapted to user daily mode.
“Due to higher energy efficiency, modern air conditioners can reduce the overall consumption of the household and thus its carbon footprint. Thus, more and more people do not solve whether to make air conditioning, but to choose. Smart functions and economy are as important today as cooling itself,” Pavel Janů’s product specialist.
“For fans, customers clearly prefer low noise, especially during night operation. A highly desired function is also the possibility of turning off sound alerts when changing speed or other adjustment. This is related to the growing interest in the backlight deactivation, which significantly increases sleep comfort.”
For example, Alza this year recorded a later advent of air conditioning interest than the previous two years. “This year we noticed the first significant growth of interest in the 16th calendar week. For comparison – last year this wave came at the age of 14. This implies that the onset of the season is slightly delayed this year,” says Čeřovská. However, this year, air conditioning sales are higher year -on -year.
“We currently register the highest sales in the price category of 10 to 15 thousand crowns – not in the cheapest models. There are lower price levels around six to seven thousand crowns,” he adds.
There are also various devices on the Internet that promise to cool the room without working. The Czech Trade Inspection Authority (CTI) warns of them – the equipment has no cooling system, and in fact they have no way to cool the room air. The CTI informed about it in a press release.
“Air conditioning does not contain any cooling media, basically it is only a fan, but the air in the room only moves but does not cool down. The device can have a heating device because it has a heater.
By 2030 more than 100 million air -conditioning
“Among the fans then lead better models, customers especially appreciate low noise, the possibility of speed regulation, oscillation and pleasant remote control. Customers invest more in more expensive models, most often between 1200 and 1500 crowns,” he describes.
Meanwhile, sellers have enough inventories. “We are also able to keep delivery times in the season. However, it may happen that the popular models are temporarily sold out and the waiting time can extend by a few days,” says Čeřovská.
In Europe, air conditioning is not as popular as in the US, but in the last decades they have spread in our country, mainly because of better availability. According to the European Commission data, in 2020, the number of so -called room air conditioning units was 57 million. It is estimated that more than 100 million air -conditioning will be installed by 2030, of which 70 million in households, which are more than a third of households.
