The Ain region of France witnessed a sharp decrease in new apartment sales during 2024. According to recent data, sales volume plummeted, reflecting a widespread crisis impacting various segments of the property market.

Concurrently, apartment prices in Ain have also decreased, with new apartments now averaging €4,480 per square meter, a 5% reduction.

France is grappling with a ample need for social housing, with 2.7 million individuals currently awaiting placement.The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (AURA) region alone has 284,444 requests, marking a 7.4% increase between 2023 and 2024. Within AURA, the Ain department has 21,415 social housing requests, reflecting an 11.2% rise.
