Perplexity and Samsung Electronics officially team up, opening up a new way of interacting with television. Perplexity CEO, Aravind Srinivas, announced that the two companies are developing an inward integration of Perplexity Samsung TV, allows users to ask questions directly from the screen they are watching.
“Perplexity works with Samsung Electronics on Samsung TV integration. “People spend a lot of time on their TV and the genuine experience of asking questions directly from where you are watching is just the beginning,” wrote Aravind Srinivas on his personal Linkedin account, as reported by topic.id, Saturday (25/10/2025).
According to him, the long-term goal of this collaboration is to eliminate the need for remote completely, and replace them with natural voice commands that are more practical and intuitive.
“We’re collaborating in the future to get rid of the remote completely and just talk to your TV inside natural language,” added Aravind Srinivas.
As is known, Samsung officially launched the Perplexity TV Application, the first app on the market powered directly by AI Perplexity. Through integration with Samsung Vision AI Companion.
This application promises a new experience in how users find information, browse viewing recommendations, and answer their curiosity directly from the TV screen. Now, users no longer need to switch devices just to find out something that appears in the middle of a broadcast, they can just ask the TV directly.
Perplexity itself is known as a real-time AI-based answering engine that relies on data sources to provide accurate answers. Different from a traditional search engine, Perplexity doesn’t just answer questions, it directs users to dig deeper into topics of interest.
According to Senior Director & Head of New Business Development at Samsung Electronics, And Glassman details this application as an important part of Samsung’s strategy to expand Platform Vision AI.
“The first-in-class AI-powered app, Perplexity, is now only available on Samsung TV, expands our Vision AI Platform offering for a more unique and personalized user experience,” said Dan Glassman.
He continued, this partnership with Perplexity is the latest to be presented cutting-edge AI technology, redefining the way Samsung owners interact with their TV.
“Samsung has always delivered innovative, first-in-market experiences for our device owners, and this partnership with Perplexity is the latest that will deliver cutting-edge AI technology, redefining the way Samsung owners interact with their TVs,” he explained.
