In a context of economic difficulties for Argentine agribusiness, Pablo Tamburo, CEO of Argensun Foods, proposed a change of perspective. During the opening of the event “Argentina vision 2040“, Organized by Adblick Agro, Argensun Foods and the Agribusiness Center of the Universidad Austral, The businessman invited “see the glass half full.” The motto of the event was “crawling Argentine agri -food: in search of value aggregate.”
“Argentina changed completely. I hope that for good, we will see it in the future. But today Agroindustrias go through a moment of crisis: low consumption, reduced margins, high operating costs, exchange rate that does not reach ”, Famuro listed. However, he clarified: “We are useful to look at the full glass. There are a lot of things and for everything there is a solution.”
The event, in its 13th edition, reunited business leaders, entrepreneurs, researchers and referents of the sector to reflect on the future of agribusiness and the challenges posed by digital transformation. The person in charge of opening this new edition was José DelicpheliFounder and CEO of Adblick Agro, who rescued the value of education, as a bridge of opportunities for those with less possibilities.
Tamcuro shared his company’s experience as an example of a Based model in alliances and collaboration. “A model that served us a lot is the alliance. Starting to see all the actors in the environment – producers, customers, suppliers, employees and even competitors – Like a team. When one shares the challenge, the solution appears faster ”, assured.
From his gaze, the present challenging can also be an opportunity to rethink the business model. “Today you have to be efficient, competitive, offer not only a product, but also an excellent service. We have to transform companies. Before there were tools that are no longer, ”he said.
In that line, Juan Cabrera, Xperiment Ventures co -founder, led the conversation to the plane of technological disruption. “We are living the moment that everything accelerates. The change occurs first gradually and then suddenly,” he said, citing Hemingway and Bill Gates. And he added: “History shows us that technology grows exponentially and now, in addition, combinatorial.”
Cabrera reviewed how the combination of technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, genetic and robotic edition revolutionize entire industries, and how agriculture —A of the most backward in digital adoption— It is facing a historical opportunity.
“150 years ago we created the stay, a productive unit of excellence. We can do it again, but with another head,” he said. He spoke of the need to develop “digital twins” for each lot, move towards total automation and build a digital platform that works as the new 21st century railway.
The closure was with a powerful question: “What side of the cut [Stanley] Kubrick are going to be? ”, in allusion to the famous and memorable scene of 2001 of “Space odyssey”where a bone thrown into the air by a ape is transformed into a spacecraft, symbolizing the evolution of humanity and its technological advance from prehistory to space, which represents a temporary ellipsis of millions of years, connecting the primitive past with the future. “The bone is already in the air”, concluded.
Finally, as Tamburo said, the challenge is to find the solution. “I assure you that if they bet on collaborative models, these solutions will get much easier and faster than if we lock ourselves alone in a company,” ended.
