Affordable Volvo EX30: Price & Release Date

by Archynetys Economy Desk

Volvo’s electric EX30 crossover has proven to be a successful and popular model across the board thanks to its good price/performance ratio, but the automaker wants to increase sales, so Volvo is preparing a cheaper version of the EX30, company representatives have confirmed.

It is planned that the new version will be available to customers with next year’s model, using a single electric motor on the rear axle with a capacity of 148 horsepower. It can be combined both with a 51kWh battery, which will give 330 kilometers with a single charge, and also with a 69kWh battery, which already promises more than 450 kilometers with a single charge.

The commercial director of the car manufacturer, Erik Severinsons, said that this version was created for Volvo to expand its offer directly in the budget class segment, thus making electrification more financially attractive to the wider public.

At the moment, there is no exact information on how much the new, simpler EX30 version will cost, but it is expected that the starting price of the car will drop by several thousand euros. Currently, the EX30 price in Latvia starts at a relatively democratic 38,500 euros.
