It was already clear that something was fundamentally changing with affinity apps. Now the new owners of the program package have let the cat out of the bag. In the future, the affinity programs will be part of a new design platform and will be permanently available free of charge. At the same time, Canva has also released a new program version of the Affinity apps.
As usual, the Affinity package includes vector, photo and layout editing functions and is fully integrated into the main Canva platform. Projects can be created in Affinity and then edited or published directly in Canva.
Visual Suite overhaul
The focus of the realignment, however, is the revision of the Canva Visual Suite, which from now on also enables the creation of videos, emails, forms or code within the platform. The new video tool is intended to allow easier editing on different devices. A separate area is integrated for email design and the construction and export of marketing messages. Forms can be integrated directly into projects and linked to Canva’s spreadsheet functions, automatically saving feedback or data entries.

Another focus is on the integration of artificial intelligence. According to its own words, Canva has developed its own design model that can recognize design connections and automatically adapt layouts. In addition, the new Ask @Canva function is intended to provide suggestions for improvement while you work, for example regarding text design or the visual coordination of individual elements.
For professional and business users, Canva also provides various tools that can be used to create marketing campaigns and monitor their success.
Subscription prices depending on service level
The company continues to earn money with its various subscription models, the scope of which is based on different usage levels.
