AFC Championship Loss: Reflecting on a Tough Weekend in Denver | [Team Name] Football

by Archynetys News Desk

Last weekend my wife and I flew out to Denver for the AFC Championship knowing it was going to be an uphill battle. Losing Bo Nix a week before the game was going to make things tough, but we were excited to be there and soak in the moment.

The weather was perfect when we arrived at the stadium. It was cold, but there were bright blue skies above. By kickoff it had turned overcast. The first half was tight and competitive, and it felt like we were in control of our destiny. Then late in the second quarter the Broncos had 4th and 1 in close range and passed on an easy field goal. We came up empty, and that swing mattered later on.

The second half changed fast. A blizzard rolled in during the third quarter and it became a totally different game for both teams from there.

We can find similarities in they way we all show up to work. You can prepare. You can have momentum. And then the environment shifts in ways you can’t always control. So setting yourself up for success has to start early and remain consistent.

Pressure reveals systems and processes, and hope is not a plan.

Execution is not something you save. It is something you do, over and over, in the moment you are in.

With the right plan and daily focus on the basics, you stack the odds in your favor long before the outcome is decided.

Go Broncos! But maybe next time kick the field goal and take those points when you have em.
