Teodor Ivanov remains the first choice for CSKA captain with the new coach Hristo Yanev, informs Topic Sport.
For the first time, the 21-year-old central defender put the strip at the zero draw against Ludogorets. Valio Iliev’s son appeared in the title staff instead of the injured lumbad Delova and stayed on the field throughout the match, appearing with his appearances. From now on, whenever he is among the 11, Ivanov will wear the tape. He will fight for a title place with business and paw.
Yanev’s approach is not surprising. During his first stay with the Army, in the Third League, he entrusted this responsibility to another young Bulgarian defender – Valentin Antov, whom he made captain at the age of 14. Thus, the specialist continues the leader line to be the product of the school.
As Theme Sport wrote, Theodor Ivanov became the fifth, who has been wearing the CSKA tape since the beginning of the season. The Reds launched the campaign with Captain Liam Cooper on Botev Plovdiv’s visit. He was later in the match with Spartacus VN, but was then released from the club. Then in three matches the tape carried the goalkeeper Busato, four matches with her recorded Adrian Lapenya, and once Captain was Ivan Turitsov – with Valio Iliev for the draw with Botev Vratsa (1: 1).
Interestingly, in the first match of Yanev – the draw with Lokomotiv Sofia in Nadezhda, the pitch were both Lapenya and Theodor Ivanov, but Captain was the first. However, for the clash with Ludogorets, the mentor changed this.
This will be the future when Valio Iliev’s son is the holder. The second choice will be the paw and the third Turitsov. The option of the tape remains the Busato, but it will be an increasing role, with the holder below the frame will continue to be the Belarusian national Fyodor Lapukhov.
Last season, there were also serious shifts with regard to any captain. The tape was worn by Cooper, Vion, Busato and Tourzov.
