Experienced actor Peter Greene, who gave life to Hollywood’s iconic villains, was found dead in his home in New York.

It was announced that Greene, known for films such as Pulp Fiction, The Mask and The Usual Suspects, died at the age of 60. It was reported that the veteran actor was found dead in his apartment in New York’s Lower East Side on Friday afternoon.

Gregg Edwards, Greene’s manager for many years, confirmed the sad news to the New York Post. Police officials announced that the apartment was entered upon a report at around 15.25, the actor was found unresponsive and he was pronounced dead at the scene. According to preliminary findings, there is no suspicion of foul play in the incident, and it was stated that the exact cause of death will become clear after forensic medical examination.

Edwards told the New York Daily News that Greene’s music playing in his home for more than 24 hours worried neighbors. “He was a great person,” Edwards said, adding, “He was truly one of the best actors of our generation. His heart was so big. I will miss him very much. He was a great friend.”

The news of the actor’s death devastated his fans on social media. One user described Greene as “one of the most memorable actors in Hollywood,” while another fan commented, “Whenever Peter Greene appeared on screen, you knew he was going to play the dirtiest and most unforgettable villain.” Some fans wrote that he scared them with his performance in the movie The Mask in their childhood, but they could not forget him.

Peter Greene was scheduled to begin filming in January on an independent thriller called Mascots alongside Mickey Rourke.

Greene would also star in the crime drama State of Confusion, written and directed by EB Hughes. The shooting of the film, which is about the father-son relationship, was planned to take place in New Jersey and New York in the fall of 2026.
