The Pope reminded the representatives of the centers of the Focolare Political Movement for Unity present at the conference that they are united “in political commitment in search of the common good“, and that “the different nations, cultures and religions to which you belong are not a reason for rivalry for you, but for collaboration and growth according to a synodal style”. The Pontiff then thanked the young people involved in their own countries in the political and social spheres, as very important areas that deserve the best energies, “especially in times wounded by many injustices, violence and war” said Prevost, underlining the “irreplaceable social function” of politics. Precisely for this reason, young leaders must “cooperate more and more in the study of participatory forms that involve all citizens, men and women, in the institutional life of States”.
