Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, concluded a working visit to Washington, during which he held a series of high-level bilateral meetings with senior US administration officials and members of the Senate.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed with American officials the importance of maintaining regional stability, combating extremism, and strengthening the strategic partnership between the UAE and the United States.
During his meeting with US Vice President J.D. Vance, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the strength of historical relations and the established strategic partnership between the two countries, stressing the importance of cooperation in the fields of economic growth, artificial intelligence, advanced technology, energy security, and defense.
They also reviewed all regional and international developments, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed keenness on continuous coordination and consultation between the two friendly countries, which contributes to enhancing regional stability and consolidating the values of peace and coexistence.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Scott Bessent, Secretary of the Treasury, Howard Lutnick, Secretary of Commerce, Doug Bergum, Secretary of the Interior, Massad Boulos, Advisor to the US President for African and Arab Affairs, Jacob Helberg, Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs, and Ambassador Rabbi Yehuda Kaplun, Special Envoy of the United States of America to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism.

The tangible progress in the UAE’s pledge last year to invest $1.4 trillion in the United States over 10 years was reviewed, based on more than a trillion dollars that have already been invested. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations to serve common interests, developing trade exchange, and expanding cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence and advanced technology. The diversity of the economic partnership that brings together the two friendly countries was also highlighted.
In 2025, the volume of bilateral trade between the UAE and the United States will reach $35.8 billion. The UAE is the first destination for US exports in the Middle East and North Africa region since 2009, and is among the few countries with which the United States achieves a stable trade surplus in the world.

During the past year, the United States approved the first allocation of advanced American semiconductors to the UAE, and cooperation frameworks such as the “UAE-US Acceleration Partnership” and the “Pax Silica” initiative contribute to consolidating the strategic compatibility between the two countries and their common commitment to security.
During the visit, Sheikh Abdullah Al Nahyan also met with Senators Chris Van Hollen, Andy Kim, Jacky Rosen, Brian Schatz, and Mark Warner, in meetings that reflected broad partisan support for the extended UAE-American partnership.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan participated in the inaugural meeting of the Peace Council called for by US President Donald Trump, along with an elite group of country leaders, senior officials and international decision-makers.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan praised President Trump’s efforts to end the war in Gaza, and his continued support for achieving long-term stability in the region.
During his speech at the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan announced that the UAE would provide an additional $1.2 billion to support Gaza through the Peace Council, noting that the country has provided nearly $3 billion in aid to the Palestinian people in Gaza since the outbreak of the war.
In addition to the official meetings, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan held meetings with an elite group of experts and thought-makers in Washington to exchange visions about regional developments and opportunities to deepen bilateral cooperation between the UAE and the United States.

The working visit of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Washington confirmed the depth of the strategic partnership between the UAE and the United States, which is based on trust and common interests, as the UAE works closely with the United States to promote peace, stability, common prosperity and responsible innovation, including setting global standards for the safe development of nuclear energy and artificial intelligence.
