The Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado In the last few hours, he ended a period of almost 11 months in hiding in his country after making a “secret” trip to Oslocapital of Norway, to receive the Nobel Peace Prize 2025.

Due to certain delays in arrival, the award ended up being given in the first instance to Machado’s daughter, Ana Corina Sosa. The leader arrived at dawn this Thursday, December 11, and was received by a hundred followers.

Among those who came up to greet her, was Washington Turco Ratherformer ambassador of Uruguay to the Organization of American States (OAS), who gained relevance among a certain public from Venezuela for his speeches critical of the regime of Nicolas Maduro in the assembly.

Abdala and Machado merged into a hug for several seconds. “The most Venezuelan Uruguayan“said a woman who was also in the audience. A few hours before the opponent’s arrival in Oslo, the former Colorado Party legislator published a video on his social networks, celebrating the event.

“In a few hours, here in Oslo, the Nobel Peace Prize will be consecrated to María Corina Machado. It is a monumental and planetary recognition for those who have truly given everything for the cause of freedom, the defense of human rights and the recovery of civility, tolerance and democracy in their country,” he assured.

Abdala considered that the awarding of the award to Machado is a “victory for Venezuela, with Venezuelans and all Venezuelans, more all who feel the cause of freedom” “It’s good that these things happen. How good that this Nobel Prize consecrates this absolutely correct and necessary evidence,” he concluded.

The former Colorado representative, prior to his trip to Norway, led a march “for peace and freedom” in support of María Corina Machado, with the motto “the Nobel is ours.” The call took place last Saturday, December 6, on the Palermo promenade, with a stage set up a few meters from the monument to Simón Bolívar, liberator of Venezuela.
