LARGO, Fla. (WWSB) – Police in Largo have arrested a man and woman accused of abandoning 11 dogs, including nine puppies, at a city park where the animals were later found to be sick with parvovirus.
The Largo Police Department said officers were notified Dec. 19, that the dogs — nine puppies and two adult female dogs — had been abandoned at Taylor Park, Largo.

The animals were taken to a local animal hospital, where veterinarians determined they were infected with parvovirus.
Following an investigation, police identified the suspects as Mary Anne Halahuni Gamble, 42, and Fred Gamble, 43.
Investigators said the pair had been illegally breeding the dogs and were aware that some puppies from the litter had been sick and died after being sold.
Both suspects were taken into custody on Jan. 2.
Each faces 12 felony counts of animal cruelty, police said.
