A year until the legal claim

Isernhagen. One year, then at the beginning of the school year 2026/2027 there is a legal right to afternoon care for primary school children – ascending from the first class. While some municipalities such as Burgwedel and Burgdorf have given primary schools with an open all -day offer for years, it is different in Isernhagen. Only a primary school in the community has an all -day offer.

The rest offer a hoard, VHS or parenting offers after school. But the places are not enough to cover the need. What does the plan for Isernhagen’s primary schools look like? One thing is already certain: it will be a sporting program. That is the state of affairs in an overview.

Elementary school on the Windmühlenberge

The primary school in Isernhagen NB was the first in 2019 and has been the only one that started all -day operation in the municipal area. The demand for the offer has been large since then, in the small sports hall on the school premises the municipality had built a cafeteria. The municipal after -school care was abandoned in the school year 2022/2023. Instead, there is now a cooperation partner with the Johannitern, who takes care of all day, afternoon and holiday care.

Altwarmbüchen’s new elementary school at Jacobiwäldchen, according to the municipality, is expected to start open all -day operation in one year in the school year 2026/2027. As in NB, the municipality is looking for a cooperation partner for this. “According to the Council decision, the AWO HORT was terminated in June on July 31, 2026,” said Sascha Freier, head of the Office for Youth, Education and Sport. The search for a cooperation partner should begin after the summer vacation, as the last details can still be clarified and decided by the political committees. However, the construction of a new cafeteria on the school premises – for 1.9 million euros.

Elementary school on Bernhard-Rehkopf-Straße

According to the municipality, Altwarmbüchen’s second primary school on Bernhard-Rehkopf-Straße should also take open all-day operation on time for the introduction of the legal claim. The municipality has already terminated the contract with the AWO-Hort for this school.

The Council recently decided to build a multifunctional cafeteria for the primary school for around 3.1 million euros. But at the start of the 2026 all -day operation, this will not be finished – especially since the primary school building itself is also to be renovated and partially torn down. The municipality expects the canteen to be completed by 2028. Until then, lunch and afternoon offer in the former hoard rooms are to be offered next to the elementary school.

Elementary school three oaks

The elementary school three oaks with its locations in Neuwarmbüchen and Kirchhorst was supposed to start all -day operation this year, but the start was now also laid in the summer of 2026 due to structural delays.

For around 700,000 euros each, the municipality has the necessary canteen built in the meeting places in Kirchhorst and Neuwarmbüchen. According to the municipality, the building permit is already available for Kirchhorst, the tenders for the conversion are underway. “The measure should be finished in April 2026,” says Freier. The building application was submitted in Neuwarmbüchen and the planning is ready. The work is to be completed there during the summer vacation 2026.

The contract for the after-school care center with the church district of Burgwedel-Langenhagen had already been terminated, but could be extended again until July 31, 2026 after moving the all-day school start. Freier reports that the award procedure for a cooperation partner for the new all -day school is currently underway.

Friedrich-Dierks primary school in HB

A primary school in Isernhagen will not start all-day operation on time for the introduction of the legal claim: the Friedrich-Dierks primary school in HB “The school management and the school authorities jointly plan to commission the all -day company for school year 2027/2028 in the existing premises,” explains Freier. The room modules in the school yard and the after-school rooms should be used for this. “The next two school years will be used to answer all open questions, create a concept and find a cooperation partner and to obtain the approval of the regional state office for school and education,” Freier reports.

In perspective, the council must decide whether it needs a new and cultivation to school and how a cafeteria should be realized. “The council has not yet dealt with this question. This will happen in the foreseeable future,” says the head of the office. In order to meet the legal entitlement from next summer, the after-school offer should remain in HB by the start of the all day. “The community is also in close exchange with the parent initiative on site,” said Freier.
