Good news for fans of the Victorian-era boxing drama, A Thousand Blows: a second season is already in the works, and it’s further along than you might expect.

Starring Stephen Graham and Erin Doherty, the series, which premiered in February 2025, follows the story of Jamaican boxer Hezekiah Moscow (Malachi Kirby) as he navigates the brutal world of London’s East End. He crosses paths with Mary Carr (Doherty), the leader of the Forty Elephants gang, and the menacing pub owner Sugar Goodson (Graham).

In a surprising turn of events, during a Q&A session following the show’s premiere, writer Steven Knight revealed that the second season had not only been confirmed but had also been filmed back-to-back with the first. This means that viewers may not have to endure a lengthy wait to see what’s next for Hezekiah, Mary, Sugar, and the rest of the characters.
