A concert dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov took place on the stage of the Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic named after Muslim Magomayev, Day.Az reports.
The program featured the performance of the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli under the direction of People’s Artist of Azerbaijan, Professor Yalchin Adigezalov.
The soloists of the program were Fatima Jafarzadeh (soprano) and Mahir Taghizadeh (baritone).
The works of Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov were presented to the public – the symphonic suite “Scheherazade”, a march from the opera-ballet “Mlada”, Gryazny’s aria and Marfa’s aria from the opera “The Tsar’s Bride” and the suite “Spanish Capriccio”.
The concert program was greeted by the public with thunderous applause.
