The rumors that have been agitating Hollywood since June 26, 2025 were therefore true. On July 3, American singer Katy Perry (40 years old) and British actor Orlando Bloom (48 years old) officially confirmed the end of their affair. In a joint press release sent to the media across the Atlantic, the two stars announced the end of their nine years together.
It’s a huge page that is turning. We remember their iconic meeting in 2016 and their engagement on Valentine’s Day in 2019. From this love was born their daughter, Daisy Love, in August 2020, now aged four. In their press release, the two parents say they want “continue to see each other as a family, their shared priority being the education of their daughter”. The message is clear: “I thought you would change, but no / Band-Aids on a broken heart.”
In the second verse, the lyrics become even darker. “I tried all the drugs / I lowered my expectations”she sings, before adding this terrible sentence: “I’m bleeding out, I’m bleeding out, I’m bleeding out slowly.” Katy Perry criticizes the lack of effort in everyday life: “It’s not that complicated / To ask me how my day went”and admits: “I’m at the end of my rope, trying to save this.” However, the song ends on a bittersweet note. The one who is currently in concert in France sings that she regrets nothing: “If I had to do it all again, I would do it again without hesitation […] The love we shared was worth it in the end.” And even if she never mentions the name Orlando Bloom, it’s hard not to see a wink in it.
