(Saint-Louis) Forward Milan Lucic has accepted a professional tryout with the St. Louis Blues‘ farm club, the Springfield Thunderbirds.
The 37-year-old Vancouverite agreed to a tryout during Blues training camp, before being sidelined with a lower-body injury. He scored a goal and collected an assist in four preparatory games.
The Montreal Canadiens‘ farm club, the Laval Rocket, will visit the Thunderbirds on November 12.
Lucic has not played in the NHL since 2023, with the Boston Bruins, before joining the NHLPA/NHL Joint Player Support Program following his arrest in a domestic violence case. He was charged with assault and battery on a family member, but the charges were dropped when his wife decided to refuse to testify.
The league reinstated him after he completed the program earlier this year.
Lucic has scored 233 goals, amassed 353 assists and collected 1,301 penalty minutes in 1,177 career NHL games with the Bruins, Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames.
He also won the Stanley Cup with the Bruins in 2011.
