Fundraiser: A big Christmas fundraising campaign for people in need will soon start in Duisburg. The “Duisburg Christmas Lights” runs from November 17th to January 11th. The Duisburg Lions Clubs, the Steinhof and the Sparkasse collect money for local aid organizations at cultural events and charity campaigns. What’s special is that private individuals can also apply for support directly – until the end of December using an online form. The organizers want to send a signal of solidarity in the city.
Blood donations: On Thursday, Duisburg residents can donate blood again and save lives. The Commercial Vocational College Mitte and the Friedrich-Albert-Lange Vocational College organized a fundraising campaign together with the German Red Cross. Donors can come to Carstanjenstraße 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The DRK is urgently looking for blood donors – because donated blood has a limited shelf life and is needed in hospitals every day for operations and emergencies.
DVG:The DVG has now made the “Stockumer Straße” tram stop barrier-free. Passengers on line 901 can get on and off more easily in both directions. This brings significant improvements, especially for people with limited mobility. At the same time, the DVG also made the bus stops for several lines at this point barrier-free.
