Other areas under seizure In the cemetery of Aci Catena where for a few days i carabinieri from the Company of Acirealeassisted by specialized colleagues from Anti-adulteration and Healthcare Unit (NAS) and of Catania Labor Inspectorate Unit (NIL)with the technical support ofASP – Public Hygieneas well as with the help of 2 dog units of the Carabinieri Unit of Nicolosi, have carried out an in-depth investigation check on the subject health and hygiene ed accident prevention.

The soldiers of the Carabinieri found in themonumental areaand ossuary inside which they were stacked bony remains not identifiable due to theunavailability of a register or any form of traceability. In the wide fossa found, visible at least 30 skulls; the workers have not yet been able to establish the depth of the ditch and precisely quantify its contents. Therefore thearea was subjected to seizure for the next ones investigations necessary.
Furthermore, along the perimeter wallsnext to the large four-storey side chapels, the staff discovered that, in a portion of land, they were stacked tons of special wasteamong which, remains of coffins, zinc cases, clothing and pieces of funeral objects roughly collected in worn garbage bags and placed on the bare earthwith the consequent serious environmental impact. The material was seized and placed inside a metal containerto limit environmental damage. Also seized was thelandfill area on which the next one will be evaluated environmental remediation.

Furthermore, it was limited access to two underground burial areashosts approx eighty nicheswithholdings dangerous for the safety of users as unsafe.
