The Concerto Day Hospital allows patients to combine, in a single half-day, their examinations and consultations before the start of treatment.

The Clinique Mutualiste de l’Estuaire is strengthening its oncology offering with the opening of Concerto, a new Oncology Day Hospital, launched in mid-September. This system aims to simplify the patient journey while improving the quality of their care.

A pre-therapeutic day hospital

The name Concerto means Coordination of ONcological care around Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy and Oral Treatments. Its principle is based on grouping together pre-treatment examinations and appointments in a single half-day. For the patient, this reduces travel, makes their journey more fluid, and offers comprehensive care, including psychological support, diet, physical activity and social support.

A journey designed for patients

After their first consultation with an oncologist, a radiotherapist, or another specialist, patients are referred to the dedicated team at the Concerto day hospital. The route takes place in three stages. Before the appointment, a questionnaire and a call allow you to prepare for the visit according to the patient’s needs. On the big day, the patient is welcomed on the 2nd floor for an information consultation, physical activity awareness workshops, or even for adapted supportive care. At the end of the day, a medical summary is then sent to the attending physician to ensure continuity of care.

A progressive approach

For the moment, Concerto functions as a pre-treatment day hospital, focused on information and preparation before treatment. The first feedback from patients praises the fluidity of the journey, the quality of the support, and the availability of the teams. Ultimately, the clinic also plans to extend the system with per- and post-therapeutic day hospitals, in order to cover the entire care pathway.
