The policemen from Suceava county have identified a driver who was filmed while entering an overtaking without securing, while another car is coming from the opposite direction. The driver coming in the other direction avoids the frontal impact at the last second, entering the opposite direction, reports News.ro.

In the images captured by a dashboard camera, you can see how the driver of a car goes in the opposite direction, apparently in an overtaking, ignoring the fact that a vehicle is coming in front that is driving normally. To avoid a frontal impact, the driver traveling in the other direction enters, in turn, the other direction of travel, managing to avoid an accident that could have dramatic consequences.
“God protect him” commented, on social networks, the one who posted the images.
The policemen who watched the film remember that they monitor not only the roads, but also the online environment and they identified and sanctioned the reckless driver on the grounds that he endangered the traffic.
According to the quoted source, the images were captured on DN 17, between the town of Prisaca Dornei and the municipality of Câmpulung Moldovenesc, towards the municipality of Vatra Dornei.
“The police officers from the Road Department of the Câmpulung Moldovenesc municipality reported the incident ex officio, identifying the driver of the car that put road safety at risk, namely a 56-year-old man from the municipality of Mangalia, Constanţa county. For the violations committed, the police drew up the record of finding and sanctioning the contravention of 18.10.2025, being sanctioned with a fine in the amount of 1,215 lei, and as a complementary measure the suspension of the exercise of the right to drive for a period of 60 days was ordered (for the violation of art. 101, par. 3, letter D of GEO 195/2002 RMC – traffic in the opposite direction)”; informs, on Sunday, the Suceava County Police.
The statistics made at the level of this county show that only in the first 9 months of 2025, the Suceava Road Service organized 511 thematic actions to reduce traffic accidents, 41,349 contravention sanctions were applied and 1,191 road offenses were detected. 5,173 driving licenses were withheld, 1,750 registration certificates were withdrawn, 506 pairs of registration plates were confiscated and 445 vehicles were immobilized.
