Crocodile in Hotel Pool Australia | Viral Video

A video clip posted on the TikTok platform showed the small crocodile lying at the bottom of the pool at the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort in Port Douglas.

The video images circulating on social media match the photos of the hotel as shown on its website.

Hotel manager Joseph Amerio said the alligator was spotted early Saturday morning.

He later indicated that the pool area had been evacuated until Queensland wildlife officials pulled him from the site in the afternoon.

The game wardens moved the animal’s location and put up warning signs about the presence of crocodiles in the area, according to a spokesman for the Australian Department of the Environment.

“The inmates and the small animal were never in the pool at the same time,” Amerio said.

It is estimated that more than 100,000 saltwater crocodiles, as well as freshwater crocodiles which are considered less aggressive, live in northern Australia.

It has not been determined which of these two species the crocodile in question belongs to.
