MILWAUKEE — The Venezuelan Jackson Chourio left 3-3 and towed three races in the first two tickets before leaving with an injury to the Corva tendon in La Victoria on Saturday 9-3 of the Milwaukee brewers against the Chicago puppies in the first match of his division series of the National League.
Chourio became the first player with three hits in the first two tickets of a postseason game. However, its availability for game 2 on Monday in the series for the best of five is uncertain.
The Venezuelan player lost a month of the regular season for a distension in the tendon of the right corva, came out stiffly in that tendon after beating a single inside the painting with the full bases.
That was practically the only thing that went wrong for the brewers, who took an advantage of 9-1 in the first two entries in a confrontation of rivals of the central division of the National League.
Freddy Peralta de Milwaukee worked five episodes and two thirds, and the only races that allowed Michael Busch and Ian Happ. Nico Hoerner added a solitary home run against Jared Koenig in the eighth entrance.
The nine strikeouts of Peralta tied the record of the brewers for a single playoff game, shared with Don Sutton, Yovani Gallardo and Brandon Woodruff.
Games between brewers and puppies in Milwaukee generally have divided crowds due to their proximity to Chicago, but that was not the case on Saturday. The vast majority of the spectators were fans of the brewers waving yellow towels and booing the manager of the puppies, Craig Counsell.
Counsell grew in the Milwaukee area and is the most winning manager in the history of the brewers, but went to Chicago after the 2023 season.
For the brewers, Venezuelans Jackson Chourio, 3-3 with one scored and three towed, William Contreras of 5-2 with two scored and one pushed.
