According to a health system news release issued on Sept. 19, Mr. Willis had been serving as interim president since February. He brings 35 years of experience in hospital leadership to his new position.

Prior to becoming interim president, he held the position of COO of the medical center starting in January 2024, and he served as interim COO from March 2023 to January 2024.

During his time as interim president and COO, Mr. Willis spearheaded several operational improvements, including enhanced employee engagement scores, the implementation of weapons screening at 22 entry points, and increased patient access to services.
