A7 Hamburg & Elbe Tunnel Closure – September Update

It is the next weekend of the A7 that is announced by nine announced weekends in Hamburg. From Friday evening, the 26. September10 p.m. to Monday morning, the 29. September5 a.m., the highway between the junctions is Stellingen and Heimfeld closed in both directions – again 55 hours and on both sides of the Elbe tunnel.

New traffic sign bridges and software check

Again traffic sign bridges are installed and the software of the Elbe tunnel calculator is checked again. The Elbe tunnel and the three noise protection tunnels in Schnelsen, Stellingen and Altona get a common control center.

Large diversions planned

As always, there is a large -scale detour via the A1, A21 and B205. Coming south from the Buchholzer Dreieck / Horster Dreieck via the Maschener Kreuz motorway junction further on the A1. Coming from the north from the Neumünster-Süd junction on the B205.

Due to the blocking of the highway, the diversions in and around Hamburg had a long traffic jam.

According to Autobahn GmbH, the A7 was released on Friday afternoon. Damage in concrete was discovered during construction work.

Due to many events at the weekend, the construction work on the Elbe tunnel came at a difficult time. The closure has been lifted again since Sunday evening.

Large projects make numerous closures on the A7 necessary over the course of the year. The Elbe tunnel is also affected on several weekends.
