Juana Hilda González Lomelí Released After 19 Years in Wallace Case

After 19 years of incarceration,juana Hilda González Lomelí,49,was released from the Federal Center for Social Reinsertion (Cefereso) number 16 in Michapa,Coatlán del Rio,at approximately 11 PM on Wednesday.She had been serving time for her conviction in the 2005 kidnapping and homicide of Hugo Alberto Wallace Miranda.
Upon her release, González Lomelí expressed gratitude to the lawyers of the Public Defensoría, notably Víctor Parada Picos.she described herself as being in “shock” and “very happy,” and indicated plans to hold a press conference to share further details wiht the media.
González Lomelí was escorted to the prison’s main entrance in a prison vehicle, where Cefereso 16 custodians presented her with her release record. Lawyers from the Federal Institute of Public Defensoría then received her and accompanied her to the prison’s main entrance, located in the southwestern part of the State of Morelos. They transported her to her home in Mexico City in an official vehicle.
She said she was in “shock” and “very happy” and that she would later offer a press conference.
