Trump Threatens Musk Over Democratic Funding

Trump Threatens Musk Over Democratic Funding, Citing Disrespect

Former President Donald Trump has warned Elon Musk of “serious consequences” if the tech mogul financially supports Democratic candidates. The escalating feud raises concerns within the Republican Party.

In a recent telephone interview, former President Donald Trump issued a stern warning to elon Musk, threatening “very serious consequences” if the tech entrepreneur decides to fund Democratic candidates who oppose the Republican tax bill.

According to NBC News, trump stated,”If you do,you will have to pay the consequences,” making it clear he has no interest in mending his relationship with Musk. When asked if reconciliation was possible, Trump responded, “No,” and suggested their relationship had ended.

Trump also accused Musk of disrespecting the presidency, saying, “I think it is very bad, because it is very disrespectful. You can not miss the presidency.” He added that he has no immediate plans to speak with Musk, stating, “I am too busy doing other things. I have no intention of talking to him.”

The public falling out between Trump and Musk has reportedly caused concern within the “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) movement, with some fearing the division could harm the Republican Party.

Republicans Hope for Reconciliation

“I will always be loyal to the president and I hope that, over time,Elon returns to the fold,”

While many Republicans are standing by Trump, some hope for a reconciliation. Vice President JD Vance expressed this sentiment, stating that it would require Musk to “return to the fold.”

In an interview on the podcast This Past Weekend w/ Theo Von, Vance said, “I will always be loyal to the president and I hope that, over time, Elon returns to the fold.” He acknowledged the current situation is “so aggressive” but remained hopeful.

Vance had previously shown his support for Trump in a post on X, avoiding direct criticism of Musk. He stated, “President Trump has done more than anyone in my life to gain the confidence of the movement he leads. I am proud to be by his side.”

Vance admitted that Musk is making “a huge mistake” and suggested that if Musk “calmed down a little, everything would go well.” He also offered a conciliatory note, saying, “Look, it happens to everyone. I have lost my stirrups much more than Elon Musk in the last 24 hours.”

Musk recently deleted a controversial tweet in which he claimed Trump did not release the Epstein files because he was implicated. This action suggests a possible attempt to de-escalate the conflict.

The deleted tweet followed a period where musk amplified conspiracy theories about Democrats hiding a list of individuals involved in Jeffrey epstein’s sex trafficking ring. These theories lacked evidence and were seen as an attempt to target Democratic leaders.

Trump’s past associations with Epstein have been scrutinized, but no concrete evidence has emerged linking the former president to the exploitation of minors. Musk’s removal of the tweet indicates a possible recognition that he had gone too far, though it remains uncertain whether this will be enough to repair the relationship.

When asked about a potential call between him and Musk, Trump responded, “Do you mean the man who has lost his head?” He added that he was not notably interested in speaking with Musk at that time, further emphasizing the strained relationship.

Despite the feud, House Speaker Mike Johnson expressed confidence that it would not impact the Republican tax bill. Johnson also voiced his desire for reconciliation between Musk and trump, stating,”I believe in redemption” and “it is indeed good for the party and for the country that everything is resolved.” However, he cautioned Musk to respect Trump’s position as the leader of the party.
