Recent rainfall in the Serranía del Burro,the river’s source,exceeded 2.5 inches (6.35 centimeters), prompting concerns about potential flooding. Authorities are meticulously tracking the river’s course to mitigate risks for both Zaragoza and Piedras Negras.
