The Chinese market has become very important for European car manufacturers and including Dacia wants to strike there, with an electric model whose price will be below 15,000 euros.
Until then, the Germans at Audi took it in front of them and came out at intervals in Asia with the E5 Sportback model. The launch was also commented on by journalists from Motor Journal, and the Spaniards, who are famous for being fans of the Dacia brandbrought the name of the Romanian producer into discussion.
The reason? Dacia established itself on the car market with unbeatable prices, and the Audi E5 Sportsback, which will be sold on the Chinese market, will take over from the Romanian manufacturer’s strategy.
“The price of the Audi plane, which competes with Tesla and Xiaomi, has dropped: now it has a price similar to that of a Dacia”, captioned those from Diario Motor.
Amount? “It’s an unimaginable price here in Europe,” added the Spaniards, who revealed that after the last discount to which the Chinese government will contribute, of 30,000 yuan, a copy of the Audi E5 Sportback can be bought for about 25,400 euros.
“The brutal price war there has led the SAIC Audi group to offer discounts on its spectacular sedan, turning it into a real bargain,” the quoted source notes.
10,000 orders in 30 minutes
Immediately after applying the discount, the Chinese flocked to order the superbness produced by Audi. The Spaniards learned that in the first 30 minutes after the announcement of the promotion, no less than 10,000 new orders were registered for the E5 Sportback.
“Customers can choose financing with 0% interest for 5 years. The Audi E5 Spotback is a product specially adapted to the Chinese customer: full of technology, at a competitive price, spacious and with high-quality finishes. All this is, of course, accompanied by strong performance,” the Spaniards informed.
The car platform uses batteries with a total capacity of 800 volts, which ensure an autonomy of up to 773 kilometers. As for power, the most powerful model made available by Audi develops 787 horsepower and reaches a hundred kilometers per hour in just over 3 seconds.
“A real rocket that costs almost four times less than an Audi with similar performance in this part of the world (no – Europe),” the Spaniards add.
It remains to be seen how well the Audi E5 Sportback will sell in Asia, but according to the same source, it has already won the “2026 China Car of the Year” award.
