Great enthusiasm and participation for the 30th edition of the Carnival in Castellammare del Golfo, which this year gave the city four days of joy, music and sharing.
The carnival began on Monday 16 February with a day entirely dedicated to the little ones in front of the Regina Margherita municipal villa. Smiles and fun filled the afternoon between soap bubbles, fire-eating shows and mascots. Many happy children took part in the initiative organized by Go Party Animation, which transformed the municipal villa into a space of celebration and light-heartedness dedicated to them.
The parades of allegorical floats on Tuesday 17 February, Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 February were eagerly awaited, attracting many families and visitors along the route from Via Segesta to Corso Garibaldi, passing through Via Vasile and Via Crispi. The protagonists are the allegorical floats created by the Sicilia Smile association, in collaboration with Colori in Movimento ETS and SOS Tuttofare. An explosion of creativity and colors animated the city centre, with scenography inspired by the Smurfs, Pokémon, the magical world of the circus and the queen with the castle.
On Tuesday there were also “the gardeners of Salemi” who donate sweets with their extendable tool, while on Saturday accompanying the parade there was also the overwhelming musical band “Città di Castellammare del Golfo” and the engaging performances of the duo Calandra & Calandra, who made the public sing and dance to the notes of the new anthem dedicated to the city, “Sata, Sata”, already available on YouTube. There was also space for the beautiful choreographies of the very active city gyms, the prize draws and the entertainment moments that made each event even more engaging.
«The 30th edition of the carnival ended with a positive outcome – states the mayor Giuseppe Fausto -. The response from the public was participation and demonstrates how Carnival represents a moment of sharing for our community. We wanted to deliver recognition plaques to the participants, sponsors and all those who collaborated, with special thanks to the young drummer Giacomo Miranda for the commitment shown”.
«Thanks to all the associations involved in the organization – continues the mayor Giuseppe Fausto – to the Civil Protection Anopas and Fly Team, to the police forces, to the municipal police, to the external and internal collaborators, to the municipal offices, to the sponsors and to all the citizens who, with commitment and spirit of collaboration, contributed to the perfect success of the event».
The 30th edition of the Castellammare del Golfo Carnival thus ends with a positive outcome: four intense days that united the community in the name of creativity and healthy fun.
