The new increase in business registrations in 2025 is a “particularly tangible indicator of the regeneration of the productive fabric”, according to the clerks of the commercial courts. In their report for the past year, they announce 634,000 registrations recorded in the trade and companies register, an increase of 7.7% compared to 2024. Individual businesses are the main contributors and represent 37.1% of total registrations (excluding Moselle and Alsace). Their distribution, however, confirms “a France of highly polarized business creations”. Île-de-France is in the lead with 30% of registrations, then comes Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (11.9%), the South Region (10%), Occitanie (8.8%) and Nouvelle-Aquitaine (7.7%). If this assessment is positive, the clerks point out that the opening of collective procedures remains at a high level. 63,112 openings were recorded in 2025, up 6.3% year-on-year.
