Dianna (Streifel) Weidner passed away on February 20, 2026 after a long fought battle with cancer.  She was born on December 13, 1946, in Dodge, North Dakota, to Wendelin and Francis Streifel. She was the youngest of three children, joining her sister, Geraldine, and brother, Michael. Dianna graduated from Dodge High School in 1964 and continued her education at Dickinson State College, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Education, majoring in English Literature with a minor in Business.

She began her teaching career in Poplar, Montana, and later taught in Parshall, Dodge, Golden Valley and Halliday, North Dakota. Dianna married Donald Weidner on November 28, 1970, in Halliday, North Dakota. As Donald worked in construction, they lived in various communities across the state before eventually settling in Halliday to begin their family. Soon after, they moved to their ranch north of Halliday, where Dianna would reside for the remainder of her life. Together they raised three children: Rhonda, Donald Jr., and DeNae.

Dianna was fiercely independent and possessed a remarkable adventurous spirit. She embraced ranch life wholeheartedly while maintaining her love of travel and exploration. The ranch provided her the opportunity to cultivate her passion for gardening and growing flowers—a love that extended into her home, where plants filled nearly every corner and windowsill. Her garden also supplied the family table, where she lovingly prepared and served countless meals sourced from the ranch and her own hands. For three generations, family and friends gathered to share in the warmth of her hospitality.

An avid reader from an early age, Dianna’s love of books remained a constant throughout her life.

Dianna is survived by her sister, Geraldine Lewis; her children, Rhonda (Patrick) Packineau, Donald (Nikki) Weidner, and DeNae Weidner; her grandchildren, KayCee (Charles) and Sheridyn Packineau; Tyler (Laura) and Garrett Rosborough; and Cooper, Ava, and Nora Weidner; her great-grandchildren, Kasten Four Swords, Solana, Reve and Camille Swallows, and James Rosborough; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wendelin and Francis Streifel; her brother, Michael Streifel; her husband, Donald; and her granddaughter, Cheyenne Packineau.

Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
