anti–inflammatorytheir
digestive supporttheir natural detox…The list is long!
According to a study published in the journal Advances in Bamboo
Scienceanother food, or rather a plant, would be rich in unsuspected benefits. Widely consumed in Asia, green bamboo is an ally for the body.
The benefits of bamboo
According to the work which collected data from 4,934 participants, the results showed that this herb provides benefits to multiple systems of the body. As crazy as it may sound, the research showed “antioxidant activity, probiotic effects, inhibition of furan formation, high nutritional value and reduction of acrylamide formation during food processing.”
It would also play an important role in regulating blood sugar. Concretely, this means that the consumption of bamboo could have multiple benefits for human health. But be careful, bamboo cannot be consumed just any way.
How to consume bamboo?
Although it is common in Asia and added to many dishes, in France it can be more difficult to consume bamboo. Don’t panic, it is possible to find shoots of
bamboo to add to your dishes, in Asian grocery stores. They can be added to vegetable noodle stir-fries, with chicken or tofu.
If you find fresh sprouts, it is important to peel the outer skin and boil them for 10 to 20 minutes before cooking. There are also bamboo herbal teas! Bamboo can therefore be consumed in several forms, although it is not renowned in France. So, do you want to try eating this “superfood” regularly?
